Streamlined Production, Seamless Experience

Our team can produce your research vector in 3-4 weeks for routine orders and up to 8 weeks for custom designs. With a commitment to transparency and state-of-the-art logistics, our research vector team provides customers with a boutique experience.

Custom AAV Vector Design

With extensive experience successfully packaging thousands of different products, our team is ready to tackle any project. The group at Franklin can provide advice tailored to your specific aims and budget on features including construct design, serotype, volume, and purity. Note that additional time (2-3 weeks) is required for plasmid generation and cloning.

Transfection and Packaging

AAV is a powerful research tool and a highly effective vector for delivering genetic payloads in gene and cell therapies. AAV are non-pathogenic, minimally immunogenic, can target dividing and non-dividing cells, drive long-term gene expression, and are available in a wide range of natural and engineered serotypes. Your gene of interest is packaged into AAV vectors via triple transfection of HEK293 cells.

Purification and Titering

AAV particles are purified using iodixanol gradient ultracentrifugation to remove impurities and empty capsids; chromatography purification is also available. Viral titer is determined via digital droplet PCR. Franklin Biolabs purifies vector to the level appropriate for your in vivo or in vitro research application.

Quality Control

Franklin Biolabs offers an extensive range of validated QC assays to characterize the identity, purity, and potency of your AAV vector. Custom assay development is available. We are proud to share that our vector production runs generate critical quality attribute data ready for inclusion in regulatory submissions. Learn more about our analytical testing services here.

Transportation and Delivery

Our team has successfully delivered vector for in vivo and in vitro research to thousands of clients across five continents. The research vector team will ensure your vector is delivered safely and on time, so place an order with confidence.
